Collaborative Sciences Project 2024

The Collaborative Sciences Project (CSP) gives our 2i IB DP students the opportunity to work together in an interdisciplinary team and work towards a common goal related to a real-world issue, pursued through the lens of the scientific method. The CSP is a focused opportunity for students to develop a range of IB learner profile attributes.

Throughout the project, the emphasis is on the experience of collaborative problem-solving, the focus being the process rather than the product. Working collaboratively in a team requires a certain level of self-awareness and empathy with other team members as well as a high level of motivation and two-way communication.

At Nørre Gymnasium we have the CSP placed after normal teaching has ceased and before end-of-year exams begins. At this time of the year our students have been working on their Extended Essay for some months and some have also completed their first IA’s. By designing, carrying out, evaluating and presenting their own projects, our students will obtain skills that they can transfer to such major assignments, and by working with classmates in new constellations they can benefit from exchanging ideas and discussing aims, methods, data collection and -processing with their peers. As something unique to Nørre Gymnasium we nominate the three best student poster presentations and award the winner with the Niels Bohr Award.

This year’s ranking was:

1st place: Asal, Helena, Maja, Rosa, Tara

2nd place: Allend, Khalid, Kristella, Taisiia, Tirdad

3rd place: Amina, Hanna, Liisa, Maya, Ruth
