Pre-IB’s trip to Garderhøjfort

The Pre-IB trip to Garderhøjfort proved to be an exceptional experience for the students. The group met at the location at 9 AM, where the students were guided by their teachers to the designated premises to store their belongings. Following this, students were divided into groups to engage in a series of activities throughout the day.

The activities included the three escape rooms, which presented stimulating and challenging math-related puzzles. This experience not only provided a fun and intense environment for the students but also fostered teamwork and collaborative learning. In addition, participants completed a math worksheet focused on functions and graphs, further extending the day's educational impact.

The third activity involved a guided tour of the fort, led by supervisors, who made the historical context engaging and informative. The tour included insights into Danish history during World War I, emphasizing the strategic use of mathematics in the design and function of the fort's cannons and structures.

Overall, this trip was both inspiring and enlightening, offering valuable insights into Danish military history and the essential role of mathematics in everyday life. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will remember it as a noteworthy and educational occasion.
