OD – The Dagsvaerk Day
Operation Dagsvaerk Day
Every year, tens of thousands of Danish high-school students give a day of their education in order to raise funds for a youth project in the developing world.
Supporting the Dagsvaerk Day is a well-established tradition at Nørre Gymnasium. The Dagsvaerk Day (or OD) is a nationwide organisation established in 1985. Since then, OD have been engaged in charitable work done by Danish High School students aimed at supporting young people’s education in the third world. Every year, a Wednesday in November is appointed as OD-Day. This day, all participating high schools suspend all lessons, enabling the students to contribute a day’s work for the benefit of the OD Project of the year.
