Information about Corona

10AUG21
New school year - New start

We are now allowed to teach all students physically at the school, and they are allowed to be together across class boundaries and in the common areas. The previous distance regulations are no longer in force, and it is possible to teach mixed classes. Only the ban on gatherings of over 500 persons is still in force until 1 September.

However, Covid-19 has not yet disappeared. This means that we must all still be careful to avoid spreading the infection. This means that all the common guidelines regarding, hand sanitizing, washing hands, coughing and sneezing in your sleeve must still be observed. Therefore, paper and sanitizer for hands and surfaces will still be available in all classrooms and other areas of the school. Read more here: https://www.sst.dk/en/English/Corona-eng/Prevent-infection/General-guidance

The requirement of using face masks is no longer in force, but anyone wishing to use it is very welcome to do so – which must be respected by everyone! If you have not been vaccinated, we urge you to still be tested twice a week.

Furthermore, we request that the general rules are followed regarding avoiding the spreading of the infection. This means that in case you experience symptoms of COVID-19, have been infected, or have been in close contact with a person with COVID-19 you must inform the Principal/Vice Principal ASAP.

As of now, you are considered a close contact in the following cases:

  • You live together
  • You have had direct physical contact with the diagnosed person
  • You have been within 1 metre of the person for more than 15 minutes
  • You have been together with a diagnosed person for more than 15 minutes at a distance of less than two metres during singing, yelling, physical exertion ved sang, råb, fysisk anstrengelse, or in closed rooms with poor ventilation

As of today our students are on full time physical lessons/exams

09APR21
Students return to physical teaching on 50% time

After a few weeks of outdoor teaching before the Easter Break, students are now back to physical teaching for 50% of their school time. This means that half of the classes are here in even weeks and the other half in odd weeks. The weeks when the students are not at the school, they participate in virtual teaching from home.

To help meet the demand of producing a negative Corona-test of max 72 hours to meet physically at the school, we have established a test center at Nørre Gymnasium for students and staff.

Find more information about the current regulations – general, re. testing and re. handling of students with symptoms - as well as the latest letter from the Ministry of Children and Education to the right on this page (both in Danish).

08DEC20
The students are sent home

On Monday, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced new restrictions for the Copenhagen area.

This means that all students at Nørre G will be sent home for virtual teaching from Wednesday 9 December 2020 until at least 3 January 2021. The dates of the Christmas holiday from Friday 18 December until and including Sunday, 3 December will still apply.

It is important that everyone takes responsibility and support the new restrictions. We will keep this page updated with any incoming information.

24NOV20
The definition of close contact has been amended in the Danish Health Authority’s pamphlet of 24NOV20

You are considered a close contact if – within 48 hours before the person had symptoms/was tested – you have been close to the person in the following ways:

  • You have had direct physical contact (e.g. hugging)
  • You have had unprotected and direct contact with secretions (e.g. been coughed on, touched a used handkerchief, shared a water bottle, etc.)
  • You have been close to a diagnosed person for more than 15 minutes at a distance of less than one metre (e.g. during conversation)
  • You have been together with a diagnosed person for more than 15 minutes at a distance of less than two metres in one of the following situations:

29OCT20
As of Thursday 29 October 2020, new rules of conduct regarding Corona will be effectuated. Please see a summary of present and new rules below:

Continued as before:
In case you are infected with Corona, you immediately call the school and inform. You need to indicate whether we are allowed to disclose your name, so others are made aware of their potential risk of being infected.

If you have been in close contact (i.e. physical contact or less than 1m distance from the person in question for more than 15 minutes), you need to isolate at home, get tested, and only return to school after an official negative test result.

The school leadership is in communication with “Styrelsen for Patientsikkerhed” (the authorities for patient security) as to Corona spreading in a class cohort. It is they who evaluate the parameters that decide about emergency teaching and/or home quarantine.

New rules from Thursday 29 October 2020:

Face masks or vizor must be worn
by everyone in hallways and common areas – but can be taken off when sitting down in the classroom, foyer, or cafeteria. However, teachers must also wear a face mask or face shield in the classroom all day if they teach three or more modules with different classes.
Students must bring their own facemasks.

Changed lunch hours for 1g and pre-IB,
with the objective of reducing mass accumulation in the hallways, foyer, and cafeteria. We introduce early lunch for 1g and pre-IB, with 2nd module being cut in two parts of equal length, divided by a lunch break. The modules for 2g/2i and 3g/3i are affected minimally.

This is how the schedule will look:

Module hours 1g and pre-IB
8.00 – 9.40            1st module
9.55 – 10.45          2nd module
10.45 – 11.15        LUNCH
11.15 – 12.00       2nd module, remainder
12.05 – 13.45       3rd module
13.55 – 15.35       4th module
15.40 – 17.20       5th module

Module hours 2g, 3g., 2i , 3i
8.00 – 9.40          1st module
9.55 – 11.35        2nd module
11.35 – 12.10       LUNCH
12.10 – 13.50      3rd module
13.55 – 15.35       4th module
15.40 – 17.20       5th module

Note that it is NOT feasible to change the entered modules in Lectio. Hence it is vital to remember and comply with the indicated hours.
In addition: please do remember to start all modules by disinfecting the tables. This is the teachers’ and students’ responsibility in the respective classrooms. Sanitizers and paper are placed in all rooms.

Kind Regards
Jens Boe

On the background of the case below, we have clarified our guidelines regarding COVID-19.  NB: Revised guidelines as of 18SEP20 above.

07SEP20
One student was ill and sent home from last week's intro trip to Sønderborg. She has subsequently been tested positive for COVID-19. The student in question had not been present in school after being infected.

To be on the safe side, all three classes who stayed at the same hostel as well as their teachers and tutors were sent home on Friday to be tested.

As such, there is not cause for great alarm. However, it is vital that everyone follow the school's regulations regarding distance, sanitizing etc. To further help this process, we have now hired a person who will sanitize all contact points every day.

Again, we emphasize the importance of continued action with care, remembering all precautions.
