Nørre G celebrates UNESCO Week
Exciting times at Nørre Gymnasium as we celebrate UNESCO Week, where our focus is on futures literacy, fostering critical thinking and exploring visions for the future, navigating the spectrum between dystopias and utopias.

This week highlights the importance of understanding futures literacy to empower the next generation in navigating the complex tensions between dystopian risks and utopian aspirations .
Monday was kick-off day for all in the first module. After a brief intro to UNESCO Week: ”Future visions – between dystopias and utopias”, Thor Svanholm from Insttute for Future Studies ”Ideas about theFuture – an introduction to futures literacy and stimulation of the ability of imagining”. Kick-off ended with workshops in the classes and the game ”The Thing from the Future”.
Friday, the week culminates in a Climate Action Day. The day starts with a virtual presentationfrom the Climate Alliance (Klimaalliancen) with Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen and Environment activist Esther Kjeldahl followed by a talk by Denis Rivin ”#ActualNews”, and then we plant a Nørre G tree :-)
The Climate Action Day ends with a Climate Café at the school visited by the FRAKs as well as a concert with MC Dommedag og Klimahystaden. The student clubs and committees wil also host various workshops, e.g. bike repair, clothes swap and many more.
