Climate Action Day 2025

On Friday, September 19th, it was the National Climate Action Day – an initiative we at Nørre G were proud to support by dedicating the entire day to focusing on the climate and exploring how we, together, can help make the planet greener.

At Nørre G, we began the day with a joint kickoff event, where we watched the Climate Alliance's film featuring Cecilie Rubow and Niklas Stenbye. This was followed by a talk from Anders Holst Bodin, who offered perspectives on the climate crisis and the role of art in creating meaning and hope.

During the event, we were also introduced to the upcoming Nørre G Tree – a beautiful copper beech that we will plant together in November. The tree will stand as a symbol of rootedness, hope, collective action, and our commitment to the future.

Two years ago, we planted an oak tree named “Nørre-Eg”. Last year, we added a ginkgo tree (Ginkgo biloba) called “Nørre-Gingko”.

The rest of the day, students had their regular classes, each incorporating a theme of hope and climate action.

To round off both the day and our UNESCO Week, we hosted a UNESCO Climate Café, featuring various student-led workshops and activities – including a clothing swap and a cake stand.
