Filmday for 1g og Pre-IB
On Thursday, November 28th, our 1st-year students and Pre-IB students participated in a film workshop organized by Lommefilm in collaboration with the Danish Cancer Society (Kræftens Bekæmpelse) and the Tryg Foundation (Trygfonden). The students were tasked with creating a campaign film for the nationwide competition ‘Drink Less – Experience More’ (Drik mindre – oplev mere), joining 6,000 other high school students in addressing youth drinking habits.
The goal of the campaign is to promote a culture where drinking less is accepted.
Students worked in teams to produce their own short films, with a maximum length of 45 seconds, using only their mobile phones or tablets. The films were not meant to be anti-alcohol but to highlight the benefits of drinking less. Each group chose one of the following themes: peer pressure, missed opportunities, or alcohol and dating. The morning was dedicated to filming and editing.
The day concluded with a screening session and a vote to crown the best film at Nørre G. The audience choice award went to ‘Who Do You Become When You Drink?’ (Hvem bliver du, når du drikker?) created by a group of 1c students. Lommefilm also selected their favorite, ‘Not Everything Is As It Seems’ (Alt er ikke, som du tror). The two films will compete on behalf of Nørre G in the nationwide competition, going up against films from high schools across Denmark. The jury is set to select the winner in week 51.
Nørre G has won this competition twice before—let’s see if “Who Do You Become When You Drink?” or “Not Everything Is As It Seems” can bring home the victory this year!
