ToK Exhibition 2021

This year was Nørre G’s first ever Theory of Knowledge Exhibition.
We are pleased to present some of the posters that were created for the exhibition here on our website. These posters were created by Norre G’s 3i students (graduating class of 2022). On the posters, students were asked to place the images of three objects. These objects were selected by the students in answer to certain knowledge-question prompts. For example, students were asked such knowledge-questions as “Should some knowledge not be sought on ethical grounds?” or “What makes a good explanation?” These were only two of the many prompts made available by the TOK curriculum. Whichever prompt a student chose, he or she then went on to create a poster in answer to that prompt. The results were thoughtful, reflective, and creative.

What we have been most pleased about in terms of this year’s exhibition was the diversity that each individual student was able to bring to the assignment. Students chose topics that ranged from their personal family histories to discussions of Einstein’s theories of relativity to explorations of Greek Mythology and Renaissance Art. With such a breadth of topics and objects compared and discussed, you can well understand how the exhibition was a great success.

Dynamic and inspiring, the TOK Exhibition is the sort of thing that the IB’s Theory of Knowledge strives to foster, and we have been so pleased with this year’s results that Norre G looks forward to expanding the exhibition next year, so that it will become an even larger event on our school’s calendar.
