The Headmaster’s Farewell Reception
Jens Boe Nielsen, Headmaster of Nørre Gymnasium since 1 March 2001, has chosen to retire after almost 20 years in this position. Jens Boe’s last working day as headmaster will be on 31 October; however, for practical reasons, the farewell reception was held on Friday 23 October.
The reception, which should have been a grand and festive celebration for a headmaster who has left a lasting imprint on Nørre Gymnasium, had to be split into two smaller sittings for invited guests due to Corona precautions and regulations. At the first sitting, former and present staff members were present, while the second sitting was reserved for external guests, among those headmaster colleagues and members of the school board. Despite the limitations, the event was very festive and a worthy farewell to Jens Boe.
At both sittings, many guests gave speeches, and the school’s talented showband, choir and also Nørre’s All Stars did their utmost to create a very festive event. A moved and grateful headmaster had his family with him to celebrate the special day, and at the end of the receptions made a speech thanking everyone.
