Future Principal

On Wednesday 30 September, the present Principal of Nørre G, Jens Boe Nielsen, announced that Mette Vedel will be his successor when he retires by the end of October. Here, Mr. Nielsen presents the new Principal:

I am pleased to announce that the School Board and the appointments committee have chosen Mette Vedel as the Principal for Nørre Gymnasium. Mette’s subjects are biology and mathematics. In 2003-04 she passed her professional postgraduate teacher training courses at Køge Gymnasium where she stayed until 2007.

In 2007, Mette started at Rungsted Gymnasium and progressed quickly to Education Manager in  2009 and on to Vice Principal in 2012 until she left Rungsted in 2019 to work for the Ministry of Education as chief consultant and team leader in the department of Education and Quality. Here she has had assignments as personnel manager as well as professional leader of the inspectorate team regarding youth education quality, teacher competency, satisfaction surveys etc.

In addition, Mette has a Master of Public Administration and much continual training within management. Furthermore, she has headed many projects in her 10 years in the administration at Rungsted. Therefore, we welcome a very experienced leader who will continue the ongoing development at Nørre Gymnasium in cooperation with the school’s entire staff.
