Culture Day 2024
On Friday, December 6th, Nørre Gymnasium hosted Cultural Day – a day dedicated to understanding, tolerance, and community. The purpose of the day was to celebrate the diversity represented at Nørre G. The goal was to challenge stereotypes, break down barriers, and strengthen our muscles of tolerance and empathy. The day was filled with learning, creativity, and festive activities.
The day began with a welcome from Principal Mette Vedel, joined by students from the Cultural Day Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. This was followed by a catwalk, where students had the opportunity to express their cultural identity in creative ways.
After the festive start, students attended two presentations. Jalal Arabi spoke about his experiences as a double minority, while Özlem Cekic spoke about the importance of strengthening the tolerance muscle.
Lunchtime brought a special treat with a food court organized by students, offering delicious samples from various cultures. The money they earned from the food sales was donated to Médecins Sans Frontières. The atmosphere was vibrant with music and dance.
