2i Canoe Trip 2023

On the 8th of September, we had our traditional 2i canoe trip on River Mølleå in Northern Zealand. The canoe trip is a team-building exercise where our students have a chance to do something different for a whole day and also experience the beautiful landscape in Northern Zealand. Teachers had arranged canoe-teams beforehand to ensure that more experienced canoists were distributed evenly and to obtain a good blending of gender and nationalities in each canoe, so that students could participate in different constellations than in their normal school days.

We met at Nybro Båd- og Kanoudlejning in Lyngby and after a quick introduction to safety precautions we sailed off, crossing Lake Lyngby Sø and then we went on down the lower stretches of Mølleå, which includes many historical buildings and many beautiful stretches of wilderness. The most physically challenging parts is when we have to carry the canoes over land, and this is where good collaborative skills are very valuable. After a long day on the water we finally reached Strandmøllen near the outlet of Mølleå into Øresund, and from there the students arranged their own transport home.
