When is virtual teaching offered, and how does it work?

If you have been sent home by the school, if you have symptoms, or if you are a close contact to someone ill and are waiting to be tested, you must inform the school about it ASAP. You must also write it as your absence reason (fraværsårsager) in Lectio. We will then, as quickly as possible, start up virtual teaching for you even if the rest of your class are in school. Teaching will be done as ’the art of the possible’ and will generally be done by the teacher or a fellow student logging on via the team link during class and informs you about the tasks.
If you are absent due to other illness, at the dentist, travelling or are truant, virtual teaching will not be possible.

I have been sent home because I have been in close contact with someone who has been tested positive. When am I allowed to return to school?

You must self-isolate and get tested four days after being exposed to infection. If this test is negative, you may come to school. However, you must also be tested on day six, and this test must also be negative.

My sister is home because her best friend is tested positive. Should I also stay home? No, you should only self-isolate if you yourself have had close contact. But you must be extra careful and take care of yourself and others. If your sister is tested positive, however, you must stay home and immediately contact the school.
I have used the same keyboard as a person who has afterwards tested positive but have otherwise not been close to the person. Is this close contact? No. Close contact means living together, having direct contact (face to face less than 1 meter for a total of more than 15 minutes), or sharing a handkerchief, a drinking bottle, or the like.
When am I considered a close contact?

You are considered a close contact if – within 48 hours before the person had symptoms/was tested – you have been close to the person in the following ways:

  • You have had direct physical contact (e.g. hugging)
  • You have had unprotected and direct contact with secretions (e.g. been coughed on, touched a used handkerchief, shared a water bottle, etc.)
  • You have been close to a diagnosed person for more than 15 minutes at a distance of less than one metre (e.g. during conversation)
  • You have been together with a diagnosed person for more than 15 minutes at a distance of less than two metres in one of the following situations:
    - Activities involving forceful exhalation, e.g. singing speaking loudly, or yelling
    - Activities involving physical exertion, e.g. fitness or yoga
    - Spending time in closed rooms with poor ventilation
I feel that many people in my class are not taking Corona seriously. They cough and do not sanitize their hands enough. I don’t like saying this to them. What should I do? You should contact your teacher, your team leader, or the school principal. We will then have a talk with your class about the situation and strongly emphasise the rules – without mentioning that you have contacted us. It is very good to let us know so we can help you keeping up the good habits.
I have been tested positive without symptoms. When am I allowed to return to school?

If you don’t have symptoms, you must self-isolate for 7 days after you took the test which gave a positive result. Then you are allowed to come to school. You don’t need to take another test.

I have been tested positive and have a fever and cough a bit. How do I know when I am well enough to return to school? You must wait until you have been symptom free for two whole days (48 hours) before you may return to school. You don’t need to take another test.
I have a grandfather who is in the high-risk group. He is coming for a visit during the weekend. Should I stay home during the week before his visit? No, you must come to school. However, you must be extra careful, keep a distance, wash your hands, and use a face mask – also during your grandfather’s visit.
Someone in my class is tested positive. Why are only five students sent home? When only one person in a class has tested positive, we must conduct individual contact tracing. This means that we talk or write to the person who informs us with whom they have had close contact. Only these students are sent home. If more than one student is tested positive, we send home the whole class.
One of my teachers wore a face shield today, another didn’t. Why is there a difference?

Teachers are only required to wear a face mask/face shield in class if they teach more than two classes on the same day.

My family is invited to a reunion in Portugal. May I participate? You must check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' travel advice. If they warn against non-necessary travel to the country in question, you should not go. If you travel anyway, you must follow the authorities’ rules for quarantine etc. You will not be offered virtual teaching as you have travelled despite the advice against it.
I have asthma and I feel it is difficult to wear a face mask at school. May I choose not to? If you have respiratory problems, you must ask your doctor if it is ok for you to wear a face mask/face shield. If the doctor recommends that you do not wear a face mask/face shield due to discomforts, you must go to a pharmacy and get a ‘distance badge’ to wear when you are at school. Come to the reception to be registered, and the administration will inform all staff that you are exempted from the face mask/face shield rule.
I have been informed by the Contact Tracing App (SmitteStop) that I have been in close contact with someone who is infected. I have no symptoms. What do I do? If you are told via the app that you have been in risk of infection, you must be tested once as soon as possible. Make an appointment via www.coronaproever.dk. You need only self-isolate in case you have symptoms COVID-19 or have been informed personally that you are a close contact to an infected person.
I have a cold and a slight fever. How do I know whether it is Corona?

If you have one or more of the main symptoms of coronavirus – a fever, a dry cough, a sore throat, or a persistent headache – you must stay home and get tested. you must inform the school about it to the school email and by write it as your absence reason (fraværsårsager) in Lectio. You will then be offered virtual teaching even though the rest of your class are at school.
