First Morning Assembly of 2018
On Monday we held the first Morning Assembly of 2018
Orientation Events 2018
Soon, it will be time for one of the year’s big events at Nørre G – the Orientation Evenings where the school is presented to potential students and their parents. Headmaster Jens Boe Nielsen presented the events and the possibility for students to help giving a good impression of our school and encouraged them to participate.
The Danish Stx Orientation Evening will take place on Wednesday 24 January. For our international lines we host an Information Evening on Thursday 25 January 2018, starting at 19.30 hrs. in our Assembly Hall. Are you unable to attend on a weekday, we have an Orientation Saturday on 27 January.
The A-lympiad preliminaries
Big congratulations to Mille, Maria, Aaqib and Frederik from 3w, who won first place at Nørre in the November preliminaries to the A-lympiad. Math teacher Michael Lund presented diplomas to the talented students. The A-lympiad is a competition in mathematical modelling, and the problem is solved by teamwork in groups of four students.
Julie Tilling Niemann at UWC
Julie left Nørre G this summer after her 2nd year as she had been accepted and given a scholarship to UWC (United World College), which is a global education movement. Julie attends UWC at their Adriatic department in Italy and is taking an IB DP with students from countries around the world. Julie told her former school mates at Nørre about the school and showed pictures from her experiences so far.
Every year, UWC Danmark sends 15-20 students to UWC schools on scholarships. The application deadline is 22 January. Read more about the UWC here
