Luigi Ciotti at Nørre G
Today, the Italian street priest and author Luigi Giotti visited Nørre G giving a talk for a group of our students about his long-standing fight against poverty and organized crime. Luigi talked about his life’s work and also answered questions from interested students and teachers. His main message was the importance of getting involved in the people around you and your society.
As a very young man, Luigi Ciotti founded Gruppo Abele, an NGO working for solutions to problems of social exclusion. Later he established the organisation Libera, which focuses on the coordination of the fight against all mafias and corruption. He recently published the book La speranza non è in vendita (Hope Is Not for Sale).
Many thanks for your visit and the inspiring talk – and we also thank our Italian teacher Claudia for the translation.
